What begins as a personal prayer can become a collective cry of surrender. That is the story behind “Take Control,” a 2026 Gospel release by Pastor Kofi Dartey featuring Pastor Godswill Oyor. Running for 7 minutes and 21 seconds, the song carries a heartfelt invitation for the Holy Spirit to take control of every area of life, drawing listeners into a message of worship, trust, and total surrender to God.
The story of Take Control began in 2023, during a season of deep prayer and intimacy with the Lord, when Pastor Kofi Dartey received the sound that would eventually become the song. For years, it remained personal, born in the secret place and not initially intended for formal release. As he began lifting it during ministrations at different churches, however, the sound gradually spread among worshippers. What started as a personal expression of prayer grew into a shared declaration of surrender.
The sound later gained wider attention through passionate worshippers, including the group @after.the.heart_ on Instagram, and spread rapidly, reaching people across the world. Despite growing demand for an official recording, Pastor Kofi remained hesitant as he waited for the leading of the Holy Spirit. The moment eventually came during a Tent Church MDWK / Campus Rush Thursday gathering, where he lifted the sound alongside his brother, Pastor Godswill Oyor. The result was a spontaneous moment of worship centered on surrender to the Holy Ghost.
